After many hours of prep work, planning, and actual construction, the Advanced Building Trades class along with the Ag. Mechanics class completed a large building project. The Floydada Whirlwind Band had 16 members qualify for the State competition. They competed Saturday, February 18th in Lubbock. These 16 students make up four ensembles, Woodwinds, Brass Quartet, Clarinet Quartet, and Sax Quartet. The State competition is May 27th , 28th , and 29th .
The Floydada I.S.D. Board met on Thursday, February 16th and recognized the following students and staff for their efforts to make education the best it can be. College Signing Day for FISD was Wednesday, February 8th at the Whirlwind Gym. Students who have applied and been accepted into a college, trade school, military or university were recognized. Each student walked the stage and had the opportunity to announce where they would be going. Family joined them on stage as well as a representative from the school they will be attending.
