2015 TECHNOLOGY TRAININGS

The Floydada Independent School District provides a technology rich environment for all students and staff. All students at FISD are provided with a laptop and other technologies during their school day to enhance their learning opportunities. Students in grades 6 through 12 have access to their laptops 24 hours a day, seven days a week during the school year. The district has been chosen by Apple Inc. as an Apple Exemplary Program for the past 9 years. FISD is proud of this honor and they recognize that these accomplishments mean they must work hard to train new students and staff and continue ongoing trainings for all students and staff so they are able to use the technologies to their fullest potential. 

APPLE COMPUTER RECOGNIZES FLOYDADA ISD

Floydada I.S.D. was once again recognized as an Apple Distinguished Program for the 2012-2013 school year. Maria Henderson and John Montgomery presented Mr. Trevino with the award during the February board meeting. Floydada I.S.D. joins 42 other programs nationwide as an exemplary learning environment. The faculty in the Technology Immersion program exhibit the five best practices of an Apple distinguished Program: visionary leadership, innovative learning and teaching, ongoing professional learning, compelling evidence of success, and a flexible learning environment.

Floydada first became a recipient of this award at the high school 6 years ago, the high school won the award 2 years in a row. The district has since received this prestigious award for the next 4 years in a row, including the present year.

It is an honor and privilege to receive this award that so very few throughout the nation receive. It is a tribute to the administration, faculty and staff of Floydada I.S.D. and their dedication to providing a technological enhanced education to the students of our schools and community.
