Congrats to Floydada High School for being an “A” rated campus in the state accountability system! FISD earned a “B” with a score of an 89. FJH also earned a “B.”

Parents/Guardians: To save yourself some time and energy, please utilize our online registration process. Once your child is set up in our system, the online registration literally takes just a couple of minutes and there will be no need to manually fill out forms for multiple children. You can log into your parent portal to complete this process. If you have any trouble, please call the campus that your child attends.

Congratulations to Linda Irlas and Carmelita Rodriguez for earning their certificate from Meal Appeal University, sponsored by Region 17 and TDA. They received intensive training on meal preparation. FISD is proud of you!

Please support these organizations as they host pregame meals this season. This will be the final season of games being played at Wester Field.

Fortunate to have Army Recruiters leading workouts this week. All boy and girl jr. high/high school athletes are encouraged to come workout at 6:30 Tuesday-Thursday. #Allin #Cando #whirlwinds

Floydada ISD is looking for 2 assistant coaches for boys athletics. The positions include 3 sports (football, basketball, and track) with one of the positions tied to 7th grade science and the other to Government/PE. Applicants must have at least a Bachelors Degree. If interested, contact us!

Lady Winds athletics has had over 40 girls attend summer workouts each of the last two days. Our participation is phenomenal. Let’s make sure we keep it going all summer Ladies! Because of the numbers we have had this week, we are going to modify our schedule a bit so we can work with smaller groups during the Coach led skills, strength and conditioning part of the program.
Mondays and Wednesdays will be 9th-12th grade skills and weight room while 7th and 8th grade will have open gym on Monday and Wednesday.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays we will flip that schedule. 7th and 8th grade will have their Coach led skills, strength and conditioning while 9th-12th grade will have their open gym time
Instead of 30 minutes of Coach led skill work in the gym per day, each group will have an hour of skills every other day. Total open gym time will stay the same as well. Each group will lift two days a week which we normally do during the school year so our girls are used to this type of workout and it has proven effective.
Having to adjust our calendar to accommodate our numbers is a great problem to have. Our community should be proud of our girls’ commitment so far. Thanks to our parents for getting them to the gym to participate.
Here is the revised calendar for June and July

Abel Bryan Cortinas, a FHS graduate, graduated with his doctoral degree today from MIT! We are so proud of Abel!
