8th Grade College Prep Workshop Floydada 8th graders had the opportunity to meet SPC college professors and learn what to expect from dual credit classes they may choose to take in high school next year. Students explored what online courses look like, learned how class modules are organized, and received tips for success as future dual-enrolled students at FCHS and South Plains College. This workshop is another step Floydada Collegiate ISD is taking to ensure our students are informed, prepared, and set up for success. Thank you, SPC, for coming to Floydada and investing in our students! #whirlwindpride 💚🌪️💻

Día de los Muertos Ofrenda An ofrenda (Spanish for “offering”) is a traditional altar created during the annual Mexican celebration of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). It serves as a tribute to honor and remember loved ones who have passed away. This year, the Spanish Club, Spanish 2, and Spanish 1 classes collaborated to create a beautiful ofrenda. The Spanish Club crafted the flowers for the arch and helped arrange the decorations around the altar. Spanish 2 students had the opportunity to make sugar skulls, paper flowers, or decorative Catrina dolls. Spanish 1 students also contributed by making sugar skulls to display on the altar. To complete the celebration, all students enjoyed a traditional taste of Pan de Muerto, a sweet bread customarily shared during Día de los Muertos.
