Floydada Collegiate Spanish
Alebrijes in Spanish Class!
Students in Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 recently learned about alebrijes, a colorful form of Mexican folk art that features imaginative creatures made from different animals.
Spanish 2 students molded their own alebrijes, while Spanish 1 students sketched and painted their designs, using bright colors and creative patterns. As part of the project, students also wrote in Spanish describing the animals they chose, the colors they used, what those colors symbolize, and how their alebrije reflects their personality.
This project allowed students to combine art, culture, and Spanish language skills while learning about an important Mexican tradition. We are proud of their creativity and hard work!

Stitched With Pride: Jasmine Completes Her First Quilt
Jasmine Flores is celebrating the completion of her very first quilt after learning the art of quilting in Mrs. Bradley’s sewing class.
With guidance from her teacher, Jasmine cut and designed colorful fabric squares before sewing them together into a patchwork top. She then machine quilted the layers, carefully finishing her project from start to finish.
“I’m so proud of it,” Jasmine shared excitedly.
Mrs. Bradley praised Jasmine’s focus and creativity throughout the process. The finished quilt is a bright reminder of her hard work — and a sign of many more sewing projects to come.

Floydada Collegiate Attendance
Congratulations to Jonathan Jimenez and Jayden Aleman! They were the winners of our Nike Dunk shoe drawing for the fourth six weeks.
All students with 96% attendance or better were entered in a drawing. We randomly chose a winner from high school and a winner from junior high. Students with great attendance have a chance to win every six weeks.
