This is an exciting step in their career journey and a strong example of what can happen when students, educators, and industry partners connect through structured workforce alignment.
We also want to thank NextEra Energy for attending our Industry Roundtable and for taking an active role in conversations that connect education pathways to real workforce opportunities.

STATE UIL ACADEMIC
A huge congratulations goes out to Brittney Machado who competed at the State UIL Academic Meet today and finished 3rd place!
Brittney presented her work: “From Ink to Influence: How Jovita Idár Shaped Texas History” at the University of Texas where it will be published in the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History and in the official Texas Historical Archives.
Way to go Brittney!! We are so proud of you! 🌪️🏅

The Seniors participated in the 4-H It's Your Money program with AgriLife Extension Service this week. Students learned how financial wellness impacts overall wellness, the importance of investing in yourself, tracking and budgeting, and about using financial services. After the lessons, students wrapped up the program with a Real World Simulation. It was an eye-openingg experience for our students as they begin to make financial decisions for themselves.
This program was provided by generous sponsors Floyd County AgriLife Extension Service, Prosperity Bank, First Texas National Bank, Texas Plains Federal Credit Union, and Happy State Bank. Thank you to our community members Floyd County Sheriff's Office, Ryan Crowe, Sheryl Back, Felisha Cavazos, and Kristy Lefevre for helping navigate students through the Real World Simulation.

Algebra 1 students designed and planned an Angry Birds game using parabolas. Students learned key features of quadratics earlier this year and got to use their skills to take out their revenge on the egg-stealing pigs!

Piñata Project
Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 students completed a single final project this year: designing and creating a piñata. Some chose to collaborate in groups, while others worked independently. The project began with learning about the history of the piñata and its origins, giving students cultural context for their work.
After brainstorming their designs, students brought their ideas to life through creativity and effort. They worked diligently throughout the process, and I am incredibly proud of their finished projects—they did an outstanding job.
