Floydada ISD Graduation Ceremony
The Texas Education Agency has issued guidelines for holding graduation ceremonies. Our district has opted for the outdoor ceremony at the new football stadium on May 21st at 7 pm, which will allow families to be a part of this special occasion. However, there are strict guidelines that we must enforce in order to ensure everyone's safety. Thank you in advance for your understanding, patience, and cooperation as we plan for and hold this event.
1. Graduates will park on the north side of the stadium and enter through the gate by the concession stand.
2. Each graduate will be given 10 tickets for immediate family members only. Tickets must be presented at the gate in order to be allowed into the stadium. Entrance into the stadium will be through the west gate behind the home stands. As you line up for entry, please follow the social distancing policies that will be posted (6 feet between you and others that are not part of your household).
3. All graduates and family members will be “screened” by medical personnel at the gate. Each person’s temperature will be taken with a no-touch thermometer. If any attendee has the following symptoms, they should stay home:
o Cough
o Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
o Chills
o Repeated shaking with chills
o Muscle pain
o Headache
o Sore throat
o Loss of taste or smell
o Diarrhea
o Feeling feverish or temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit
o Known close contact with a person who is lab confirmed to have COVID-19 if exposure to the active confirmed case occurred within the last 14 days
4. Facial coverings (over the nose and mouth) are strongly encouraged.
5. Social distancing guidelines will be enforced at all times, including during entry, exit, and seating. We will have “ushers” that will escort families to assigned seats. Please remember that 6 feet or more of spacing between all attendees, except for members of the same household, will be required. The ushers will also dismiss people after the ceremony.
6. We will have hand sanitizer stations at the entrance and in the restroom area.
7. No more than 1 person at a time will be allowed in the restroom.
8. We will not allow congregating of people on FISD property before, during, or after the ceremony. This is for everyone’s safety and to comply with guidelines issued by the state and TEA.
9. Law enforcement will be present to help us enforce all guidelines. Anyone not following these guidelines will be escorted out of the stadium.
10. The ceremony will be live-streamed on our district’s Facebook page.

Since we were unable to honor our senior athletes with a "senior night" at their last home game in their respective spring sport, we will host a "Senior Night" on May 7th at 6:30 pm at Wester Field. We will be sharing information soon with senior athletes and their families on how we will honor them while maintaining the safety requirements associated with COVID-19. We will live stream the event on our district Facebook for family and friends that are not able to attend.

FISD is working on graduation plans. Honoring the Class of 2020 is a priority for us and we want it to be a momentous occasion for our seniors. We are also discussing ways to honor senior student-athletes who were not able to be honored on "senior night" in their respective spring sports. Details will be shared with senior students and families very soon.
Duncan will have the 3rd and final spring picture and back pack handouts Tuesday the 28th from 9-1. If you cannot make it and haven’t picked yours up yet please call Duncan office (806) 983- 5332 during that time to make arrangements.
We'd like to let students and parents know that we still miss seeing you all and we are here for you if you need anything. We also have one announcement regarding our food service. Beginning next week, we will be delivering two days worth of meals (for Thursday and Friday) on Thursday mornings. Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.
A.B.Duncan will be handing out school pictures on Tuesday April 21st (tomorrow) from 5 pm to 7pm again.
