ACE will be at Punkin Days!

ACE October Newsletter

October is designated as Principals Month in the state of Texas. We join all school districts in honoring all principals in the state, but more importantly, our own.
Our principals play a vital role in our school district. They are the educational leaders of their respective campus and are responsible for staff and student success. They often have to wear many hats as they are called upon to serve the students and staff on their campus. We are blessed to have Mrs. Monica Smith at Duncan Collegiate Elementary and Mrs. Dara Ware at Floydada Collegiate Jr. High/High School. They are truly passionate educators who care about their students and staff. They devote countless hours to make their campus and FCISD the best they can possibly be. Thank you for all that you do.

8th grade trip to TSTC today.

Can you post…
8th grade visited TSTC in Sweetwater to learn about the wind energy industry and other technical programs! Students got to build miniature windows turbines, tour the facility, and climb a turbine and repel down!
This is a pathway available at Floydada Collegiate High School that allows student to earn a trade/degree while in high school and be able to earn great salaries after graduating!

Congratulations to our students of the day! Ariel Alvarado for high school and Ezekiel Moreno for junior high.

Tomorrow at 8 a.m. high school students will have uil practice. See the attached regular schedule for Monday through Thursday.

Troopers Johnson and Medrano brought safety training to Floydada schools today! Thanks to Department of Public Safety.

Please see the schedule for the secondary campus (6-12) for Friday the 30th.

Friday September 30th all students will report to school at 8 am.

Reminder:
Shattered Dreams will be taking place Thursday, September 29th and Friday, September 30th. This will include a simulated wreck scene with First Responders and Moore Rose Funeral Home responding. Please do not be alarmed, this is only a simulation. If you see or hear sirens around 10am on Thursday morning, chances are this is associated with the Shattered Dreams Program. Again this is only a simulation and not a real accident. For more information, please see this article in The Floyd County Record. https://www.floydcountyrecord.com/2022/09/27/floydada-students-to-experience-shattered-dreams-this-week/

Floydada Collegiate ISD wants the community to be aware of the platform iWatchTexas, a service provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety. This platform allows you to report suspicious activities that may be dangerous in nature.
This site is not designed to report emergencies. If this is an emergency, please call 911.
Your report will be reviewed by an analyst to determine if similar reporting exists and to ensure the appropriate referrals are made. The report should take less than 5 minutes to complete and will remain confidential.

We have been given the all-clear for Ascender by the service center, so parent and student portals should now be working as intended. Thank you for your patience!

Our students of the day for Tuesday are:
Derrick Suarez and Logan Gutierrez. Congratulations!!
