Mrs. Crossland's Principal of Sewing Class made pillow cases for the BeeHive. The making of pillowcases has been and annual event for the BeeHive.

Attention 6th Grade Parents Mrs. DeLaFuente's 6th grade Math classes are not posting correctly in the grade book. Progress reports sent out today are incorrect. Mrs. DelaFuente is working with the Service Center to get the issue corrected.

National Assistant Principals Week is April 5–9 The FCISD Assistant Principals play an important role in the success of our district. Robin Nixon supports the AB Duncan campus. Dara Ware, Carlos Munoz and Armando Morales supports the Secondary campus. We would like to say THANK YOU for all of you hard work and dedication!

Flute Quartet Advances to State Solo and Ensemble Contest On Saturday, February 27, two teams traveled to Crosbyton for the UIL Region Solo and Ensemble Contest. Our clarinet quartet earned a Division 3 and our Flute Quartet earned a Division 1. The Flute Quartet, consisting of Anyssa Sanchez, Jody Briones, Alex De Los Santos, and Holley Monroe, will compete at the UIL State Solo and Ensemble Contest on May 29-31. Usually the contest is held in Pflugerville, TX, however this year due to COVID the contest has been changed to a virtual contest. Wish them luck in their preparations for state contests! Gooooooo Whirlwinds!

The Rotary Club and Lions Club held their weekly meeting at our new secondary campus today. Dr. Trevino and other FCISD administrators provided the program, which included a tour of the new facilities. It was great having them in our district.

District 4-AA Track & Field Championship March 31/April 1

For the rest of district play, you can listen to Whirlwinds baseball on 106.1 FM and to Lady Winds softball on 900 AM. Both teams play at home at 5 pm on Friday.

Dear Secondary Parents, On Thursday, March 25 Floydada Collegiate High School will be the host site for the District UIL Contest. As the host site, we will need to use all of our classrooms for the contest. Floydada Collegiate High School and Collegiate Junior High students will attend school remotely. Teachers will assign work to students that must be completed online. Attendance will be taken and students will be given attendance credit for doing their work and turning it in online. Students will find their work in their Google Classrooms. Students can turn in the assignment in Google Classroom or by using their phones to take a picture of the work and emailing it in. We are asking for the work to be turned in by 11:00am on Thursday, March 25. Students must turn in the work or must discuss the work in a phone call with someone from the school so that the student is not counted absent. We are excited to host the District contest and we thank you for your understanding and support. All of our students will be expected to complete their assignments and turn them in online on Thursday. Students who do not have internet at home will be expected to complete the assignment and to be available to discuss the assignment in a phone call with them on Thursday.
