Good evening. Due to the extremely low temperature expected early tomorrow morning, we will have a 10:00 start. Custodial staff need to report at 9:00. All other staff need to report at 9:35. Thank you!
The National Weather Service has issued a “Severe Cold Warning” for our area and county. This warning remains in effect from 6 pm this evening until noon on Thursday. Dangerously cold wind chills could reach as low as 15 below zero. Cold wind chills as low as 10 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions aren’t taken. Please take precautionary actions such as dressing in layers, wearing a head covering, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. Students are advised NOT to wear shorts to school. We will make determinations about school start times or cancellations as we receive more weather reports. Please stay safe!

Reminder to 8th grade parents! We are excited to host a P-Tech parent meeting Today @ 5:30PM at the secondary campus cafeteria. This session will give you insight into the P-Tech program and how your child could earn FREE college credits. Snacks will be provided.
Here is the ticket link for the Monday, February 10th 7:30 PM playoff game at Lubbock-Cooper Liberty High School between the Floydada Lady Winds and the Farwell Lady Blues. Lubbock Cooper is cashless at the gate. Tickets may be pre-purchased or “Walk-Up” tickets may also be purchased at the gate by card swipe. They are not enforcing a clear bag policy. No outside food/drinks allowed.

Mrs. Bradley’s Class Joins Mini Stock Show for a Day of Fun and Learning
On January 21st, Mrs. Bradley’s class participated in an exciting Mini Stock Show hosted by the Floyd and Hale County Farm Bureau. High school students from Plainview and Abernathy, along with other dedicated volunteers, helped make the event a memorable experience.
Students engaged in hands-on activities, including showing a goat, holding a rabbit, and decorating cowboy hats. The fun continued with marshmallow roasting, creating custom ear tags, painting pig portraits, setting up their own farm and even participating in a lively dance.
The event provided a unique opportunity for students to explore agriculture, creativity, and teamwork in a supportive and enjoyable environment.
