3rd-5th grade began student directed research projects today! This is a critical part of preparing students for post-secondary success. Students conduct research related to Floyd County, and organize and present the research. Valuable academic and employability skills are learned and put into practice throughout the process. These projects are done in partnership with Floyd County Agri-Life Extension!
How does water effect plant growth and its root system? Students have planted wheat seed and will water in specific amounts over the coming month, tracking data and form conclusions.
Floyd County grows more than 200,000 acres of wheat!

Josten's was here today to collect order forms for class rings and caps and gowns. They did not have time to work with every student today. We will schedule a time for them to come back to Floydada. They did not leave extra order forms, but their website is jostens.com . The representative's name and contact information is listed when you enter that you attend Floydada CHS.

Boys Basketball Schedule
In art class, students are learning about symmetrical drawing! They used pencils, sharpies, and natural light to make their drawings perfectly balanced, just like magic. They're not only becoming awesome artists, but are also discovering how cool symmetry is in art and the world around us!

We have parents that are interested in attending the send off this afternoon.
Teachers and students already have a map of where they will stand. We will adjust this slightly to allow for outside guests.
Sophomores, juniors, and seniors will stand between Coach Morales' office and the front entrance. Parents will be in the gym. The path will be directed into the gym for parents to wish the team good luck.
The team is on a strict schedule and will not stop in the gym. They are heading to the athletic wing after the send off to load the bus.
