Floydada Collegiate Junior High recently had a Grade 6 student complete his MindPlay Prescriptive Program. Completing MindPlay by this student has been an example for persistence in overcoming obstacles, perseverance toward a goal, and courage to make good choices.
Floydada Collegiate ISD and the team at MindPlay Education are very proud of Wesley Crowe’s achievement! At this time, Wesley is the first student we know of to complete the entire program! Our MindPlay representative, Ty Duncan, awarded Wesley and his teacher with a Subway gift card!
Mindplay is a reading program designed to help students in phonics, decoding, fluency, and comprehension. There is also an extensive grammar program!
Students are given an initial assessment then prescribed specific lessons to address areas of need. The goal is that students improve their reading level (Lexile Level) and the ability to understand what they read at a faster rate as this will help them throughout all courses and throughout life. Strong reading skills are important to student success!
Ms. Price’s 6th grade class has increased their reading level about 1.27 grade levels so far this year!
Congratulations, Wesley and Ms. Price! Keep working hard 6th grade!
