On Thursday, March 14th our NHS group gathered together and provided Floyd County Daycare with their Easter egg hunt. They heard many little voices telling them “ Thank you” and several of them received many high fives! Fun Childhood Memories were made! Thank you Floyd County Daycare for allowing us to be part of your Egg Hunting this Year!

FCISD academic banquet is scheduled for April 25th at 6:00 pm. Students honored will be: tomorrow’s leaders, uil, one act play, BPA, tafe, dual credit, perfect attendance, A average, etc. tickets will be sold at the door for $12.00.

Great day for the Whirlwinds! Regional qualifiers: 4x400 relay for both boys and girls. Girls are Clarissa DeLaFuente, Lailah Burks, Allyson Romero and Faith Lopez. Boys team is: Jonathan Pena, Saul Reyes, izaiah Alvarado and Andres Mendoza.

A.E. Baker Chapter Induction Ceremony took place on April 10th @ Floydada Collegiate High School Auditorium Six new members were inducted. Edgar Cervera -Sophomore, Kylie Fipps- Sophomore, Anthony Garcia- Junior, Janeisi Garza- Sophomore, Azaylee Santos-Sophomore, & Sierra Snowden-Sophomore 2021-2022 NHS Members Include: Trace Glasscock-President Nathanael Garza- Vice President Kaitlyn Vega-Secretary Erin Trevino-Treasurer T.J. Adams, Peyton, Anderson, Brett Brittian Lailah Burks, Clarissa de la Fuente, Brandon Marquez, Tatum Glasscock, Ashlyn Green, Faith Lopez, Jazmin Pacheco, Devin Reyes, Saul Reyes, & Kailee Sanchez The National Honor Society (NHS) elevates a school's commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These four pillars have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception in 1921. Scholarship Per national guidelines, at a minimum, students must have a cumulative GPA of 85, B, 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent standard of excellence. (Each school chapter is allowed to require a higher cumulative GPA.) Service This involves voluntary contributions made by a student to the school or community, done without compensation. Leadership Student leaders are those who are resourceful, good problem solvers, and idea contributors. Leadership experiences can be drawn from school or community activities while working with or for others. Character The student of good character is cooperative; demonstrates high standards of honesty and reliability; shows courtesy, concern, and respect for others; and generally, maintains a clean disciplinary record.

Coach Martinez took his Student Athletic Trainers and Kinesiology students to West Texas A&M for the Buffs Sports Medicine Seminar on Monday. They had the opportunity to learn about cupping, dry needling, stretching, yoga and soft tissue manipulation as rehabilitation tools to assist our Whirlwinds get better and be better!
