We would like to provide public notice of positive COVID-19 cases for students in our district. We received medical confirmation of positive tests on 3 students (all in the same household) late yesterday afternoon, Monday, November 2, 2020. The students are now in quarantine. There was one student from Duncan and two from our high school campus. The campuses conducted contact tracing immediately for these cases and we do not believe the virus was contracted on campuses by these students. The students have not been on campuses since last week. The students were not considered to be in “close contact” with anyone on campus. Close contact is defined as being exposed to infectious secretions (i.e. being coughed on) or being within 6 feet for a cumulative duration of 15 minutes without a facial covering. As we’ve done all year, all areas of each campus are disinfected each day with a Clorox Germicidal System. In addition, classrooms are disinfected each time students transition from class to class. We will continue to ask students age 10 and older to wear facial coverings. We would like to encourage those who test positive or who have to quarantine due to close contact with a positive case to please follow the quarantine guidelines recommended by the CDC. Our district is doing an amazing job of ensuring our students remain healthy and safe, but we need the help of the community, too. If you are in quarantine, please do not allow others in your home until the quarantine period ends for your household. This will help minimize the spread of the virus. Thank you!

We would like to provide public notice of two positive COVID-19 cases in our district. An elementary staff member received medical confirmation of a positive test on Friday afternoon, October 30, 2020. The staff member is now in quarantine. Today, we received medical confirmation of another elementary staff member testing positive. This staff member is also in quarantine. The campus conducted contact tracing immediately for both cases. All health and safety measures (including social distancing and/or facial coverings) were in place and followed, so there is no reason to believe any students or staff were considered to be in “close contact” with the positive case. Close contact is defined as being exposed to infectious secretions (i.e. being coughed on) or being within 6 feet for a cumulative duration of 15 minutes without a facial covering. Parents of students in the classes where these staff members work will be notified. As we’ve done all year, all areas of each campus are disinfected each day with a Clorox Germicidal System. In addition, classrooms are disinfected each time students transition from class to class. We will continue to ask students age 10 and older to wear facial coverings.
