Our custodians and instructional staff have done an amazing job of disinfecting our facilities daily. We strongly encourage our school community to keep wearing facial coverings, social distancing, and using hand sanitizer.
We would like to provide public notice of positive COVID-19 case #11 in our district. An elementary student received medical confirmation of a positive test on Tuesday, October 20th. The student and family are now in quarantine. The campus conducted contact tracing immediately. All health and safety measures (including social distancing and/or facial coverings) were in place and followed, so there is no reason to believe any students or staff were considered to be in “close contact” with the positive case. Close contact is defined as being exposed to infectious secretions (i.e. being coughed on) or being within 6 feet for a cumulative duration of 15 minutes. As we’ve done all year, all areas of each campus are disinfected each day. In addition, classrooms are disinfected each time students transition from class to class. We will continue to ask students age 10 and older to wear facial coverings.
Tickets for Friday night's game vs. Post (here) are being sold at the FCISD Central Office. Families of players, band members, and cheerleaders can purchase today. Sale to the general public will open up tomorrow at 8 a.m. Tickets are $4 each.

The other staff member is a teacher so all parents of students in that classroom will be notified. Close contact is defined as being exposed to infectious secretions (i.e. being coughed on) or being within 6 feet for a cumulative duration of 15 minutes. As we’ve done all year, all areas of each campus are disinfected each day. In addition, classrooms are disinfected each time students transition from class to class. We will continue to ask students age 10 and older to wear facial coverings.
We would like to provide public notice of positive COVID-19 case #8 in our district. A high school student received medical confirmation of a positive test today, Saturday, October 17th. The student is now in quarantine. As of now, we believe 4 other students were in “close contact” with this positive case. The parents of those 4 students have been contacted and those students are required to quarantine for 14 days. Close contact is defined as being exposed to infectious secretions (i.e. being coughed on) or being within 6 feet for a cumulative duration of 15 minutes without a facial covering. As we continue to conduct contact tracing for this case or any other case, we will notify parents and guardians of close contact immediately. Please continue to encourage your child to wear their facial covering as this will help decrease the likelihood of contracting the virus.

The student is now in quarantine. The secondary campus was notified and contact tracing was immediately initiated. All health and safety measures (including social distancing and/or facial coverings) were in place and followed, so there is no reason to believe any students or staff were considered to be in “close contact” with the positive case. Close contact is defined as being exposed to infectious secretions (i.e. being coughed on) or being within 6 feet for a cumulative duration of 15 minutes. As we’ve done all year, all areas of each campus are disinfected each day. In addition, classrooms are disinfected each time students transition from class to class. We will continue to ask students age 10 and older to wear facial coverings. Also, please keep in mind that the 7 cases date back to the start of the school year. There are fewer than 7 active cases since some have recovered.

The secondary campus will be taking school pictures on Monday, October 26th. Seniors will be at 8:30 AM, followed by the rest of high school. After lunch we will be taking junior high pictures.

Close contact is defined as being exposed to infectious secretions (i.e. being coughed on) or being within 6 feet for a cumulative duration of 15 minutes. Cases 2 and 3 have recovered and are no longer positive cases.
Floydada Winds will take on Sundown Roughnecks Friday, October 16 at Sundown beginning at 7:00. Tickets will be sold at the Southeast Corner Visitor gate. Mrs. Baker will be selling the tickets.

***JH Winds Football Update***
The 7th and 8th grade will play a combined game this Thursday, October 8, against Tahoka at 5:00. They will play a 5th quarter to ensure that all kids do get into the game.

Students traveling to Washington, D.C. May 2021 are hosting the Pregame Meal on Friday, October 9th. We will be serving Lasagna, Salad, breadsticks, a drink, and dessert. Tickets are $10 each. All meals will be packaged for carryout. Please see Natalie Snowden or one of our traveling 7th, 8th, or 9th graders for tickets. Thank you in advance for your support!
As part of Dave Campbell's Texas Football season-long celebration of UIL 100 Years of Football, Floydada vs. Lockney has been nominated as being one of the Top 100 rivalries in the history of UIL Texas High School Football. The fan vote will determine the top 10 rivalries of all time and we know devoted fan bases will do its best to make sure their school is well represented. Voting ends Sunday, October 4th at noon, so make sure to get those votes in!
Each of the 100 nominated rivalries will be recognized by the UIL and Dave Campbell’s Texas Football in a special commemorative magazine and the Top 10 will be recognized with a special ceremony at the UIL State Football Championship in Arlington, Texas.

Tickets for the game vs. Roosevelt this Friday night can be purchased starting Monday morning at 8 a.m. As is our policy this year, tickets for immediate family of players, band members, and cheerleaders can be purchased on Monday and Tuesday from 8 am to 4 pm. Tickets for the general public will be sold beginning Wednesday at 8 am through Friday at 3:30 pm. Please call the FCISD Central Office if you have any questions. Tickets are $4 each. Go Winds!
