Lady Winds Basketball Update
Varsity Girls game tonight vs Roosevelt has been cancelled.
JV Girls will play at 4pm in WW Gym.
The Lady Winds Varsity Basketball Team will resume games on December 18, 2020 at Plainview Christian at 6pm.
After tonight’s JV Girls game, all remaining JV Girls games in the month of December are pending until further notice.
With the Varsity team still in quarantine, the JV team traveled to Sudan to take on the Hornets Varsity team. The Whirlwinds were able to sneak away with a 60-52 win over the Hornets. I am very appreciative of the hard work and effort the team put in to help us get off to a 2-0 start. The young men did not back down from the challenge and I can honestly say the future for Floydada Basketball is very bright! Go Winds!!!

The Lady Winds defeated Anton today by a score of 31-23 to move to 3-1 on the season. They were led in scoring by Clarissa Delafuente and Erin Trevino. Great job!

Winds Basketball Game Cancelled Updated Due to Idalou’s football team still in the playoffs. The game on Tuesday Nov. 24th vs Idalou has been cancelled.
JV Girls Basketball games are cancelled for tonight.
We were just informed that Kress girls basketball has been quarantined due to the Covid 19 virus. This game has not been rescheduled at this time.
These students participated in the Regional TAFE contest today, virtually. Both teams competed in the Professional Development Category.
Kailee Sanchez, Noah Garcia and Kaylea Britt presented on Developmental Delays in children. (Noah Garcia is not pictured due to quarantine)
Jazmin Coronado and Clarissa Delafuente did their presentation on Teen Pregnancy.
All participates also took the Educational Leadership Fundamentals test online as well. The students should find out if they advance to the state competition in about a week or so.

Lady Winds Basketball Update
Hermleigh ISD has shutdown their district through the Thanksgiving holidays due to the Covid 19 virus, our varsity basketball game scheduled for Tuesday, November 24, 2020, has been canceled. This game has not been rescheduled at this time.
With several young players and one varsity player playing the varsity schedule until the rest of the varsity players return from quarantine, the Whirlwinds kicked off basketball season by defeating Wellman-Union 69-56. The team was led in scoring by Dillon Bruington, Aiden Trevino, and Saul Reyes. Great job Winds!
Duncan parents, don’t forget today is picture day! We can’t wait to see everyone’s smiling faces!
This is just a friendly reminder that facial coverings are required if you are attending a basketball game in our gyms. This is the only way to keep our kids safe and ensure we are able to play a full basketball season. If this becomes an issue, people may be asked to leave or we may have to play games without fans. Please do what’s best for our students and athletes! Thank you to those who are complying with this guideline.
HS Basketball Games vs Anton Update
The Anton football team is in the playoffs and playing their next playoff game on Friday night, there have been changes made to basketball games scheduled Friday night, November 20, 2020.
Both Boys games have been canceled.
JV Girls game has been canceled.
The Lady Winds Varsity will play Anton on Saturday morning, November 21, 2020. Tip time is 11AM in the Whirlwind Gym.

Thanksgiving Break Update for FCISD
We have extended Thanksgiving break to include Monday, November 23rd and Tuesday, November 24th in an effort to try to limit the effects of COVID-19 in our school community. Thanksgiving break will be from November 23rd through November 30th. We will resume classes on December 1st.
