***ATTENTION PARENTS***
Parent Portal alerts have been disabled. There are several issues. As soon as these issues have been resolved, alerts will be turned back on.

Tickets for the game at New Home are available today and tomorrow for the immediate family of players, cheerleaders, and band (the modified band group; not the whole group). You can pick up tickets at the FCISD Central Office. The ticket will get you into the gate at New Home and you will pay for that ticket at the game on Friday ($5 for adults, $2 for students). No tickets will be sold at the gate and no passes will be honored. They only made 300 tickets available to us.

Attention 6th Grade Parents
There is an issue with the gradebook. The 6th grade ELA is not posting correcting and the issue is being worked on by Region 17. When logging in Parent Portal, all grades with the exception of 6th ELA are correct.

Charles Tyer Football/Track Field Dedication
Mr. Tyer has been an important inspiration to FCISD. In recognition to his tirelessness dedication to FCISD, the football/track field was dedicated to him at the Friday night football game.

Tickets for Friday night’s game at Smyer will not be pre-sold this week. They told us tickets will be purchased at the gate, $5 for adults and $2 for students.

ATTENTION PARENTS/EX-WHIRLWINDS
See the picture below for where to stand at the Pep Rally in the Tyer Football Stadium at 2:45, Friday, Sept. 4.

BEAT KERMIT!

We are sold out of tickets to the Homecoming game Friday night.

Distance Learning parents: We will be making a few changes to our Google Meets settings. Starting tomorrow, your child will not be able to join a Google Meets session before the teacher does. If you try to do so, you may receive a “You’re not allowed to create Meets” error. The reason for this change is we have had kids beat the teacher into the meeting, and this takes away the moderator control of the meet from the teacher. By making sure the teacher gets in first, this will allow the teacher to control the Meet much better and make the experience better for everyone. This change will happen starting tomorrow at 8:00AM. Please let us know if there are any questions or issues, and thank you for your understanding and supporting distance learning!

We will play Kermit here at 7 pm in our Homecoming game on Friday night.

The game this Friday night vs. Lockney has been cancelled. Lockney has had several students exposed to COVID-19 so the safest option is to cancel the game. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lockney ISD, their students, and staff. We are looking for an opponent to play Friday night and hope to know something this evening. If we are unable to find an opponent, then Homecoming will be rescheduled to September 25th vs. Roosevelt.

UIL is allowing school districts to stream their sports games due to the attendance restrictions in place due to Covid-19. Check out tonight's game live on KFLP's YouTube page! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lV5TG4hdhY

We are excited about our Homecoming 2020! Tickets for the game vs. Lockney next Friday night can be purchased starting Monday morning at 8 a.m. As is our policy this year, tickets for immediate family of players, band members, cheerleaders, and homecoming queen candidates can be purchased on Monday and Tuesday from 8 am to 4 pm and Tuesday evening from 5:30-6:30. Tickets for the general public will be sold beginning Wednesday at 8 am through Friday at 3:30 pm. You can also purchase tickets Wednesday evening from 6:30-7:30. Tickets are $4 each. Go Winds!

We have received 351 tickets to pre-sale for the varsity football game at Tulia on Friday. Parents of players, cheerleaders, and band members may purchase tickets through tomorrow (8:00 am to 4:00 pm). We will open up ticket sales to the general public on Wednesday at 8 a.m. If you cannot make it between 8-4, please call Evie Salinas at 983-3498 or email her at esalinas@floydadaisd.esc17.net to make other arrangements. We will only accept cash for all tickets ($4 for students and adults).

Revised Guidelines for Whirlwinds Scrimmage on 8/20/2020

c. When a congregating group of persons in the same household maintains at least 6 feet of social distancing
4. Hand sanitizing stations will be provided throughout the stadium and at all entrances.
5. Seating, handrails, and other common surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected prior to each game.

Attention Duncan Parents,
Thank you for your patience and grace as we work to make sure all children are dismissed in a safe and orderly fashion.
To help the flow of afternoon dismissal traffic, starting today, August, 18th, we will dismiss pre-k and kindergarten students beginning at 3:30. All parents of pre-k and kindergarten students will pull through the traffic line on the south side of the building to pick your child up. If you have other children in 1st-5th grades, we kindly ask that you circle back through the dismissal line at 3:45 to pick them up.
Students in 1st-5th grade will dismiss at 3:45. Parents, please pull through the traffic line on the south side of the building beginning at 3:45 to pick your child up.
If you arrive early during the pre-k and kindergarten dismissal, and have children in 1st-5th grades, we will kindly ask that you circle back around at 3:45 to prevent traffic from backing up.
If your child rides a bus, they will run at 3:45 as normal.
We appreciate your support!
